FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What are the conference fees?

As a non-profit venture, we've done our best to keep the conference fees affordable.  The fees for the main conference and pre-conference events are as follows:

Pre-conference workshops (March 20 & 21, 2018):  $160.00 CDN per workshop

Main Conference (March 22-23, 2018):

  • Professionals - Early-bird Rate (prior to February 15, 2018) $295.00 CDN
  • Professionals - Regular Rate (after February 15, 2018) $345.00 CDN
  • Students - Early-bird Rate (prior to February 15, 2018) $160.00 CDN
  • Students - Regular Rate (after February 15, 2018) $190.00 CDN

Note:  To be eligible for the student rate, registrants must be in full-time attendance at a recognized post-secondary educational institution and must register with a valid school email address.

Can I register for the pre-conference workshops, but not for the conference itself?

Gosh, why would you want to do that?  It's going to be a great conference!  But, seriously, the actual answer is yes and no. The registration system will not allow you to register for a pre-conference workshop, without registering for the conference. However, we appreciate that someone might have some good reasons for attending a pre-conference workshop without continuing on to the conference.  If this is the case, please contact us at bridges@bridgesinstitute.org and we'll facilitate your registration.

What are the ground transportation options for getting to the hotel from Stanfield International Airport?

At the moment, the only options are by taxi/limousine or via public transit. The former can be expensive if you're travelling alone, while the latter is inexpensive, but possibly inconvenient. However, we're working on some additional options and will update this in the News section of this website as the conference draws closer.

Do you have a list of accommodations in Halifax aside from the conference hotel?

We would really appreciate attendees staying at the conference's hotel, rather than elsewhere. The more rooms booked means that we pay less for the conference. Keep in mind that we are a non-profit entity. If fewer people stay at the conference hotel then there's a higher risk that the conference loses money, something that's never good for a non-profit organization.  The discounted rate we've obtained from the hotel is actually quite reasonable among downtown hotels at that time of year. 

Is my registration transferrable?

Yes, but give us at least seven days notice.  However, any special rate used (student/early-bird) may not apply at the time of the transfer.

Can I update my registration information?

Absolutely.  Contact us with any changes you'd like to make and we'll look after it.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the conference?

We'd prefer that you did, as it makes checking you in easier.  But don't worry, if you don't bring it, we'll have a record of your registration.

What about refunds?

Refunds can be generated up until February 22, 2018.  No refunds will be given beyond this date, as we're obligated to pay the conference venue for the goods and services we've agreed upon.

Do I need a Promo Code to register?

No, you can ignore this - the Promo Code box is for use only for those who have received an exemption of a fee in accordance with conference policy.

What about Continuing Education Credits?

After considerable research into companies that certify CEUs for various regulatory bodies , we have decided to simply provide those attending the conference with the following:

  • confirmation of the workshops attended
  • workshop descriptions
  • information on the credentials of the presenters

In this way, each attendee will be able to address the specific and particular needs of their regulatory body in their place of residence.  In the conference handout package, we plan to include a form that will assist you in capturing the above information.  As the conference grows nearer, we'll also provide additional information on the process for obtaining the confirmations you require.
